The Glass and Glazing Federation has been the leading trade association involved in glass since 1976.

Our Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) scheme was set up in 2005, and was designed to provide the best cover to consumers purchasing glazing products from FENSA registered businesses. Due to demand this has now been extended to other home improvement trades such as Kitchen, Bathroom, General Building and Blockpaving.

The home improvement market is particularly volatile with a high proportion of companies ceasing to trade within the first three years of trading. Most offer their own written guarantees but as in the glazing industry these are traditionally for 10 years. An IBG is the most effective way of protection the installers written guarantee and for in most cases a minimal cost.
